Not sure what last week's bird was so excited about when I shot that photo (it was "that time" of year, so might have been a hormonal thing . . . ), but the bird in question was a Willet. It should be pretty easy to narrow this week's bird down to a couple of possibilities, but then you have a 50/50 chance of choosing the correct answer!

Eastern meadowlark.
It is clearly a Meadowlark however, without knowing where the photo was taken and also with out a song it is virtually impossible to id this guy definitely. It is interesting though the current issue of the Auk suggests that there maybe a case for splitting the Eastern Meadowlark into to separate species.
It is clearly a Meadowlark but, with out hearing the song and/or knowing where the photo was taken it is impossible to give an accurate ID.
Interestingly in the current issue of the Auk a case is bing made for splitting the Eastern Meadowlark into to separate species.
An Eastern Meadolark because of the more clearly shaped "V".
