Morning After

Fresh Snow I knew it was coming, but, tied up doing some research last night, about 5 inches of (desperately needed) fresh snow fell when I wasn't looking. By the time I woke up this morning the total had climbed to 10 inches. They were here to clear the road earlier than I expected, so, why not head out for a photograph? I'm sure I've said it before but, while this place is simply amazing, it is even better with a fresh coat of snow on the hoodoos!

Having never seen the place, with or without a dusting of snow, I'll take your word for now. The photo of the red, ochre rock formations peeking through the glistening white snow truly takes my breath away. It's hard to imagine getting up several days in a row and seeing such a scene. Charlie would have loved it.

You'll just have to come see for yourself someday, with or without the white stuff. If you want birds to go with the pretty rocks, May, June, and July are the best time. And, while there's not much here, Charlie would have liked all the fossils next door, too.
